“Helping to Rebuild Communities”

Dogwood Charitable Foundation

The Dogwood Charitable Foundation was founded by Jim and Martha Grossman in 2007.

After having volunteered at many different disasters over the years, including September 11 and Hurricane Katrina, Jim and Martha felt that they would like to help disaster victims on a larger scale.

The Dogwood Charitable Foundation was started in response to the needs the Grossman’s saw, firsthand, after taking multiple trips to Mississippi to help disaster victims from Katrina rebuild their lives and homes.  The main goal of the foundation is to be able to respond to similar situations on a larger scale, than what could be done individually.  By pooling resources, both monetarily and through the volunteer services and skills of like-minded individuals, it was felt that the foundation could better serve those who have been affected by a disaster.

The foundation also felt that it would like to contribute to the local community, by helping with community improvement projects when their services weren’t needed in a disaster situation.
