Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

Message from the President

“I would like to thank you for all your past support of the projects the foundation undertakes.  Many of you have supported us by sharing your time and money over the last 2 ½ years to help with the various projects we have worked on.  Today, I would like to take this opportunity to share our latest project with you.  Over Christmas, my wife, Martha and I were both impressed that we needed to continue our work in Waveland, Mississippi.  After our last trip in March of 2007, we both felt that we had completed our work there, but now we believe that God has something more for us to finish. Even though the Katrina disaster is no longer in the news, it is still there and very real to the people who were affected by it.  On March 16 – April 14, we will once again be returning to Waveland, Mississippi to continue the work God has put on our hearts.” – Jim Grossman II, President

Latest Projects

Albion Field Station – This quarter we continued our project of adding bathrooms to the existing cabins at the field station located in Albion.  Over the last three months, we took three trips to the Mendocino Coastline.  We enjoyed working with approximately 70 different volunteers throughout the project.   As usual the hospitality provided by the field station was outstanding.  At this point in the project we’ve completed close to 95 percent of the projects we set out finish.  The sheetrock, painting, flooring and a majority of the finish work has been completed.  We just need to complete some minor finish details and the bathroom renovations on the cabins will be done, except for the landscaping.  To view pictures and get more information about the project go to www.puc.edu/Albion and view Albion News – Newsletter.  Watch our calendar for more projects with Albion Field Station in the future.

Monterey Bay Academy Work Bee – The volunteer work at Monterey Bay Academy was a big success.  The primary project of installing a concrete apron and chain-link fence to protect the campus’ domestic water reservoir and well was completed.  We were blessed to be joined by many volunteers brought in by the Central California Conference.  With the extra volunteer help, many more projects were completed, including replacing patios, decks and a bathroom in the faculty housing.  Painting, electrical upgrades and some major classroom renovations were also accomplished.  Thank you to all the volunteers that participated, your service was a blessing to Monterey Bay Academy.  We also want to give a big thanks to MBA for their hospitality.  They really went out of their way to provide for us.  We look forward to volunteering our time with them again next year.

Ongoing projects - We continue our support of Mother Lode Adventist Jr. Academy.   This quarter we finished refurbishing bike trailers for the 7th and 8th grade history bike tour.  They had a great tour!!!  We also recovered three benches that needed new upholstery for the elementary building.  We encourage you to look at their list of needs to see if you can help.  You can visit www.mlaja.org and view their wish list.
